Fort Lewis Amateur Radio Activity

Field Day

Field Day - A national emergency preparedness exercise for amateur radio operators.

This is a 24 hour event going from noon on Saturday to noon on Sunday.

This exercise allows ham radio operators to get out of their house and set up a station using equipment owned / gathered and getting on the air. The ARRL (Amateur Radio Relay League) has made a contest out of this event, awarding points for activities performed during the 24 hour operation period.

This event is also used to showcase amateur radio to the general public.

This annual exercise happens on the fourth weekend in June.

Here are the links for the Field Day events over the years. There will be other years included as I find pictures or notes on the past years Field Day events.
